Antsiranana or Diego Suarez

Antsiranana Province. Population: 59040 inhabitants (1993 Census). Ancient name: Diego Suarez. A picturesque old French colonial/garrison town on a headland thrusting out into one of the largest bays in the world. The views of the very varied shoreline all around the bay and the huge sky and the cloudscape above - depending on the weather - are very impressive.
